Security guarantees key to ending war, Zelensky says after Florida talks.
President Zelensky meets with Ukrainian negotiation team
According to Novyny.live: On March 24, 2023, President Volodymyr Zelensky received a briefing from the Ukrainian delegation following their talks with U.S. officials in Florida three days earlier. During the meeting, the Ukrainian leader stressed that security guarantees and continued cooperation with international partners are essential given the current geopolitical climate.
National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov reported on the key topics addressed during the negotiations. Steve Witkoff characterized the discussions with the Ukrainian team as constructive. Zelensky emphasized that
“the most important thing is to work out security guarantees in a way that brings us closer to ending the war”.
The president also highlighted the growing complexity of the global situation, noting that
“the geopolitical landscape has become more complicated due to the war against Iran, and unfortunately, this bolsters Russia’s confidence”. He added that “the situation can only be resolved through joint efforts by the United States, Europe, and other global partners.”
This meeting underscores the critical role of international support for Ukraine amid the ongoing conflict and the need to maintain dialogue with allies to ensure regional stability and security. With the world facing an increasingly volatile geopolitical environment, stepping up negotiations with partners is a key factor in strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities and advancing toward a peaceful resolution.
