Russia launched a massive strike on 14 regions: what Zelensky reported.
According to FREEДOM:
Consequences of the night attack by Russia
On the night of August 30, the Russian Federation attacked 14 regions of Ukraine. As a result of the shelling, residential buildings and civilian infrastructure were damaged. While attacking peaceful cities, the aggressor used about 540 drones, eight ballistic missiles, and 37 other rockets. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called for increased pressure on dictator Putin, who is prolonging the war.
Situation in Zaporizhzhia
Zelensky confirmed that all services are working at the site of the strike on a five-story residential building in Zaporizhzhia.
'One person is known to have died and dozens were injured, including children. Once again, a typical residential building. Emergency services and air defense forces were also active in other regions at night. The following regions suffered: Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Rivne, Sumy, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi, and Chernihiv. There were many fires, mainly affecting civil infrastructure: houses and businesses,' Zelensky noted.
Russia's refusal for peace talks
The President emphasized that Russia is again showing reluctance to enter the peace process.
'It is quite obvious that the time allocated for preparing the meeting at the leaders' level has been used by Moscow to prepare for new massive strikes. The only way to reopen a window of opportunities for diplomacy is to impose strict tariffs against all those financing the Russian army and effective sanctions against Moscow itself—banking and energy. This war will not stop with political statements—real steps are needed. We are waiting for actions from America, Europe, and the whole world,' emphasized the Ukrainian leader.
Details of the attack in Zaporizhzhia
According to preliminary data, as a result of a combined strike on Zaporizhzhia, one person was killed, and 24 were injured, including three children.
This attack once again highlighted the danger faced by the civilian population of Ukraine and confirmed concerns about the continuation of aggression from Russia. President Zelensky called on the international community to take necessary measures to stop such attacks and ensure the safety of peace-loving citizens.
