Zelensky denied the attack on Putin's residence: named the reasons for Russia's accusations

According to ТСН: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky denied Russia's claims of an alleged attack by Ukrainian drones on the official residence of the President of the Russian Federation.

Zelensky's Response

“This is another lie from the Russian Federation... They are simply preparing the ground for strikes on the capital and state buildings,” Zelensky noted.

The head of state emphasized that Russia is trying to disrupt progress in peace negotiations between Ukraine and the United States and is also preparing the groundwork for possible attacks on government buildings in Kyiv.

“It is clear that we had a meeting with Trump yesterday. For the 'Russians,' if we have no scandal with America and we have progress, that is a failure. They do not want to end the war, and with their statement they are preparing the ground for strikes on the capital and state buildings,” he added.

Zelensky also urged the United States to respond appropriately to Russian threats and to support the security of the Ukrainian capital.

“I believe that today, in principle, President Trump, his team, and the Europeans should engage and conduct the necessary work with the people about whom just yesterday it was said that they very much want to end the war,” Zelensky concluded.

Recall that earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Kyiv allegedly conducted a drone attack on the state residence of President Vladimir Putin in Novgorod region on the night of December 29.

Moreover, Lavrov mentioned that Russia would revise its negotiating position in light of this “attack” on the residence.

This situation again highlights the tension in relations between Ukraine and Russia, especially amid peace negotiations. Zelensky's words underscore the importance of international support, particularly from the United States, in ensuring Ukraine's security. The latest statements from Russia may indicate intentions to escalate the conflict, which requires special attention from the global community.
