Zelensky discussed steps towards peace with the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic: details of the conversation.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, spoke by phone on August 8 with the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Petr Fiala. The main focus was on efforts to achieve real peace.
The conversation between Zelensky and Fiala
Zelensky informed Fiala about all contacts and efforts aimed at ensuring peace. He expressed his belief that everyone is united in the desire to end the war and the importance of a joint European position on security.
'America is determined to achieve a ceasefire, we must collectively support all constructive steps. A dignified, reliable, lasting peace can only be a joint result,' Zelensky emphasized.
Zelensky also thanked the Czech Republic for the support provided, particularly for the Czech initiative on artillery assistance for Ukrainian soldiers. He noted that this has helped save many lives and strengthen Ukraine's positions.
In addition, today the president had a conversation with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk. Among the main topics discussed were peace initiatives and joint defense production.
The phone conversations have highlighted support and cooperation between Ukraine and the Czech Republic, as well as between Ukraine and Poland on issues of ensuring peace and security.
