The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a briefing with journalists, during which he spoke about the arrival of a new batch of F-16 fighter jets, details of a phone conversation with US President Donald Trump, and prospects for a ceasefire.

New F-16s and Refutation of Russian Propaganda

Zelensky confirmed that Ukraine has received additional F-16 fighter jets. 'Additional F-16s have arrived in Ukraine. The Russians are lying that they shot something down, they shot nothing down. And the good news is that several F-16s have arrived in Ukraine,' the president emphasized, refuting Russian claims about supposedly downed aircraft in Sumy region.

Details of the Conversation with Trump

The head of state described the conversation with the American leader as 'the most substantive in recent times'. According to him, the parties discussed in detail steps towards a partial ceasefire.

'The mood was right, sufficiently detailed. We talked about our next steps, the requirements for a partial ceasefire. And today we see it this way,' Zelensky said.

The president noted that Ukraine will prepare a list of civilian and energy infrastructure facilities that must be protected from Russian strikes. 'I told President Trump that it would be desirable for us to prepare lists of facilities against which Russian long-range weapons cannot be used. These can be railways, ports. We know all the facilities that Russia attacks. If the US controls this with us together, we can control these things,' the Ukrainian leader emphasized.

Prospects for Full Ceasefire

Regarding the possibility of achieving a full ceasefire in a few weeks, as previously stated by Trump's special representative Steve Witkoff, Zelensky expressed cautious optimism.

'It may be the same here. I cannot confirm this right now,' the president said, recalling the negotiations in Saudi Arabia, where the initial proposal for silence at sea and in the air later transformed into a discussion of a full ceasefire.

At the same Time, he noted that 'Putin does not want a ceasefire... His position is not as strong now as it was six months ago, but there is still initiative. Putin wants there to be no our soldier in Kursk.'

Zaporizhzhia NPP and the Role of the US

A significant focus in the conversation with Trump was on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, which is under Russian occupation. Zelensky confirmed that the possibility of US involvement in restoring the plant was discussed.

'ZNPP is in danger because the Russians are there with weapons. I said that de-occupation of the station is not enough; there must be infrastructure - water supply, technical personnel. To ensure that in a year and a half to two years, the station generates revenue, electricity for people. This is my vision,' Zelensky explained.

According to the president, Trump asked if the US could participate in restoring the ZNPP. 'I replied that yes, if there is an opportunity to modernize, invest money, etc. We are ready to discuss this. But we talked exclusively about one station,' he emphasized, refuting information about supposedly transferring all Ukrainian energy under US control.

Unacceptability of Ending the War Along the Front Line

Zelensky categorically opposed ending the war along the current demarcation line. 'If in some places you leave this line, you will simply leave cities or villages without life. No one will return to half of the cities. And if people return somewhere, it will be Berlin. I honestly told President Trump: 'Do we want Berlin, or do we want many such cities?',' the president emphasized.

He also added that 'the issue of territories will be the most difficult', however, 'Trump understands that legally we do not recognize the territories occupied by the Russians.'

Peacekeeping Forces and Symmetrical Response

The president spoke about the prospects of deploying peacekeeping forces in Ukraine. 'There are countries willing to be deployed in Ukraine, there are those willing to be on the border. There are countries ready to be in dangerous places, while some are only willing to be by the sea or in central cities. We need to work out a common vision; specific countries with numerical composition should appear on the map,' Zelensky stated.

Regarding possible Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy sector, the president assured: 'We will believe for the best. Although, probably not without surprises, as it always happens. How can Ukraine respond? Symmetrically.'

Other Important Topics

Zelensky also reported that during the conversation with Trump, issues related to the return of abducted Ukrainian children were discussed, although the mechanism for their return is still unclear, as well as the exchange of prisoners of war and civilians.

When asked about possible pressure from Trump, the Ukrainian president replied: 'I do not feel any pressure from Trump.'

According to Zelensky, a meeting of representatives of Ukraine and the US in Saudi Arabia to discuss the details of a partial ceasefire is possible in the near future.
