Zelensky on the peace plan: Ukraine rejects Russia's demands to reduce the Armed Forces.
According to ТСН: Ukraine has rejected Russia's demands to reduce the number of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and is awaiting an official response from the Kremlin regarding the peace plan presented through the United States.
President's comment
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky during a meeting with journalists.
“We have not received an official response from the Russian side. We communicate exclusively with the Americans. And I think I have emphasized this, you know about it. And the Americans, in turn, communicate with the Russians. I hope we will know their official response in the coming days,” Zelensky noted.
Discussion topics
Zelensky added that the issues of the de-occupation of Donbas and the security of the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant, as well as other important topics, will be discussed at the next stages of negotiations.
“As for the army, what is currently enshrined during our agreements with the American side, I said openly: we are satisfied with the army that is currently recorded there. For us, this is a guarantee of security. And the American side hears us,” concluded Zelensky.
Prospects of the meeting
Zelensky has an important meeting scheduled soon with Donald Trump, during which key issues of cooperation and security will also be discussed.
This situation indicates the continuation of a complex dialogue between Ukraine, the USA, and Russia. Hopes for a constructive response from the Kremlin remain, as the issues of security and the territorial integrity of Ukraine remain at the center of the international community's attention. At the same time, active communication with the USA emphasizes the importance of strategic partnership for Ukraine in the context of continued support in the face of growing threats.
