The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, criticized the leader of Russia, Vladimir Putin, in an interview with BILD, calling him a liar compared to US President Donald Trump. According to Zelensky, Putin is interested in continuing the war in eastern Ukraine, fueling hatred and disinformation.
Moreover, Zelensky stated that Ukraine does not trust the Russian side in negotiations to end the war. He believes Russia will try to strike a deal with Trump to avoid new sanctions, but has two main goals: to conduct dialogue without involving European and American partners and to isolate Ukraine.
In his statement, Zelensky emphasized that the fight for independence is the most important task for Ukraine, which continues to defend itself against Russian aggression and uphold its rights in international negotiations.
