Zelensky on Dialogue with Poland: The Beginning of the Path to Restoring Trust.
Dialogue with Poland
According to ТСН: The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, shared his impressions of his communication with the new political leadership of Poland. He noted that the parties have begun a path to restore deep trust and active cooperation, which is critically important for both countries.
Zelensky characterized his first conversation with the newly elected President of Poland as
“substantive, frank, and open”. Although it is too early to talk about the intensity of contacts, the president considers the mere fact of the beginning of dialogue to be a very positive signal.
“We are friendly neighbors, and the first step has been taken”, he emphasized.
The President also expressed gratitude to the Polish side for its support and for the historic decision of the EU to allocate 90 billion euros to Ukraine during the leaders' meeting in Brussels.
“This is a historic decision”, Zelensky summarized.
In addition to the meeting with the President of Poland, he discussed bilateral issues with Prime Minister Donald Tusk and met with parliamentarians. The President underscored the importance of constructive cooperation at all levels.
According to Zelensky, the conversation with the new President of Poland is only the beginning of the path. Kyiv is set on further strengthening mutual understanding and intensive cooperation on all key issues of bilateral relations.
We remind that earlier Zelensky promised to stay in Poland for a meeting on December 19 with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, who returned from the EU summit.
This dialogue between Ukraine and Poland opens new opportunities for the development of relations between the two countries. The positive signals sent by Zelensky may contribute to deepening cooperation in many areas, from the economy to politics. The strategic partnership between neighbors remains an important element of stability in the region.
