Zelensky said where the Russian Federation will come with war if it wins in Ukraine.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Russia might try to destabilize other regions of Europe, particularly the Baltic and the Balkans, if it achieves its goals in Ukraine.
He stated this during a speech at the third summit "Ukraine - Southeast Europe" in Dubrovnik, Croatia, reports "Ukrinform".
"The Balkans remember what happened to them, Europe remembers this. Ukrainian resistance to Russian aggression is another guarantee of your further stability. If Russia achieves its goal, defeats Ukraine, then undoubtedly, new regimes similar to the Moscow one will emerge. Also, the Moscow regime will continue to attempt to destabilize the Baltic region and the Balkans. We must ensure that Russia does not have the strength to continue this aggression so that it cannot threaten other countries any longer," said Zelensky.
Addressing the summit participants, the Ukrainian leader emphasized the need to unite efforts to counter the Russian threat. He reminded them of the historical experience of the Balkans and the importance of preventing similar conflicts in the future.
This summit became the third in a series of meetings between Ukraine and the countries of Southeast Europe. The previous second summit took place on February 28, 2024, in Albania. At that Time, the leaders of the participating countries signed a joint declaration, calling on the international community to strengthen support for Ukraine. The document reaffirmed unwavering support for the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders as of 1991.
The summit participants expressed their readiness to provide Ukraine with the necessary support to achieve victory over Russian aggression and establish a just peace. The first summit of this format took place in Athens in August 2022, establishing an essential platform for regional dialogue and cooperation.
It is noted that Zelensky also stated that the situation on the battlefield creates an opportunity to end the war in Ukraine no later than 2025.
