Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in his address on August 15, the 904th day of the war, outlined the key areas of strengthening the state's legal positions and proposed a number of legislative changes.

Zelensky reported on the meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff, where the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, delivered a report. According to the president, the greatest attention is being paid to the defense of Toretsk, Pokrovsk, and other directions where the highest number of Russian assaults is observed.

The president also noted the successes of the Ukrainian army in the Kursk region, where the town of Sudzha was liberated and a Ukrainian military command was established. Overall, he said, more than 80 settlements have already been liberated.

Zelensky announced a number of legislative initiatives, including:

  1. Ensuring at the legislative level all payments and preferences for military personnel participating in operations on the aggressor's territory.
  2. Granting Ukrainian citizenship to foreign legionnaires defending Ukraine and their relatives.
  3. Regulating the issue of trophy weapons.
  4. Stripping titles and awards from traitors, collaborators, and criminals who have sided with Russia.

The president called on the Verkhovna Rada to immediately convene to consider these issues, emphasizing the importance of prompt decision-making to strengthen Ukraine's independence.
