Summit meeting of the heads of state from Ukraine and France

According to UATV: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has arrived for his twelfth stay in France since the beginning of Russia's large-scale invasion. In Paris, he met with Emmanuel Macron to discuss further support for Kyiv and joint armament projects. Since the outbreak of the war, the European Union has provided over 200 billion euros in aid - a clear sign of solidarity.

Before his departure to France, Zelensky held talks with Romanian President Nicolae Ciucă, highlighting the intensive diplomatic efforts of the Ukrainian leader in the region. The negotiations with Macron focused on bilateral projects, including the so-called SAFE programs. The French President assured that Paris would continue to support Ukraine - despite the increasing tensions in the Middle East.

Energy security as a central theme

Macron emphasized that the current developments indicate a triple failure for Moscow - a sign of the change in the international order and Ukraine's strengthened position on the world stage. Zelensky noted that a certain number of intercept drones are present both in Middle Eastern states and in the USA, which could influence the military situation.

Another point on the agenda was two power lines that are to be completed by the end of 2023 to secure Ukraine's electricity supply. These projects are part of a broader strategy to stabilize the country's energy infrastructure during the war.

The meeting between the two presidents highlights the ongoing international solidarity with Ukraine in its defensive struggle against Russia. The increasing financial and military support from the EU and countries like France shows that a strong alliance stands behind Kyiv. The discussions about energy projects further emphasize the importance of adapting the infrastructure to the conditions of the war to strengthen the country's independence from external threats.
