Russian troops shelled Kharkiv

On September 1, 2024, Kharkiv suffered another massive shelling by Russian troops, reports "Khvylya".

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky condemned this act of aggression, calling it terror against civilian infrastructure and the peaceful population. He emphasized the need to involve all rescue forces to assist the victims and called on world leaders to take decisive action.

"Russia is terrorizing Kharkiv again. Strikes on civilian infrastructure, just the city," Zelensky said.

According to the head of the Kharkiv regional administration, Oleh Synehubov, the number of injured as of 15:28 Sunday, September 1, reached 41 people, including 5 children.

The occupiers attacked three locations in the city: Kharkiv Sports Palace, a shopping center in the Saltivsky district, and near Hydropark in the Kyivsky district. According to preliminary information, Iskander missiles were among the weapons used.

According to experts, the speed of Iskander missiles is 6000 km/h, which is typical for the shelling of Kharkiv on September 1.

Sorting through the rubble at the Sports Palace, where one of the missile hits occurred, continues.

At least 6 hits were recorded at the shelling site, some of which struck the ground.
