Zelensky has chosen a candidate for the position of military ombudsman.
President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he has already selected a person to take the position of military ombudsman. He stated this in his address on December 29 and mentioned that the relevant decree will be published on December 30.
According to Zelensky, the first decision regarding the appointment of the President's Authorized Representative for the Protection of the Rights of Military Personnel and Their Families has already been prepared. The ombudsman for the military will receive a separate institution, which will define its powers, funding, and other aspects of its work. Zelensky urged the Verkhovna Rada and the government to support these innovations.
The President emphasized that the institution of military ombudsman is necessary, taking into account the needs of other government bodies and military personnel. Its goal is to create a system that can effectively protect the rights of military personnel and provide them with real assistance.
Previously, Zelensky noted that he plans to make important personnel decisions in the near future. In addition, the government supported his decision to dismiss the heads of the Kyiv and Poltava regional military administrations.
Furthermore, the Cabinet of Ministers made a decision to dismiss the head of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory and the Deputy Head of the National Health Service of Ukraine.
