Ukrainian Armed Forces advance in Donetsk: Zelensky spoke about successes at the front.
Ukrainian Armed Forces have successfully operated in complex areas in Donetsk over the past two days, achieving victories in Dobropillia and Pokrovsk.
Situation at the front - Russia's preparation
This was reported by President Volodymyr Zelensky on Saturday, August 16.
The head of state reported that he received a report from Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi.
'We are monitoring the front, defending our positions and have information about the movements of the Russian army. We are defending along the whole front line', Zelensky stated.
The president also emphasized the importance of support and recognition for the units of the National Guard of Ukraine 'Azov', airborne assault troops, the naval infantry brigade named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi, and the mechanized brigade 'Kholodny Yar'.
'We continue to deprive the occupiers of the opportunity to infiltrate our positions. The Commander-in-Chief also reported on the actions of our military in other sectors of the front. I am grateful to all soldiers for their courage', he added.
'We register the movements and preparations of Russian troops. We will counter them, even if it requires an asymmetrical response. Ukraine needs strong positions and a real counteraction against the enemy', Zelensky noted.
It was also reported that the Russians occupied two populated localities in the Donetsk region and changed their tactics for attacks with drones.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to successfully defend their positions at the front, preparing for potential new attacks from Russian troops. President Zelensky emphasized the importance of their work and expressed gratitude to all warriors for their resilience and courage in the struggle against the occupiers.
