Earthquake in Kamchatka Damaged Russian Nuclear Submarine Base: Satellite Evidence
The earthquake that recently occurred off the coast of Kamchatka damaged Russia's nuclear submarine base. Powerful waves from the underground tremors hit the 'Rybachiy' base. This was reported by The Telegraph, referencing satellite images.

Satellite images from Umbra Space recorded the displacement of one part of the pier from its original position. This likely indicates a detachment from the mooring place. The submarine may not have been docked nearby at the moment of the earthquake. According to experts, the damage to the structure itself will have little military significance. Nuclear submarines, including the latest 'Borey' class and Soviet 'Delta' submarines based in the region, are located closest to the United States among all, except those at the frontline. The 'Rybachiy' area, which is located in Avachinskaya Bay, is approximately 120 kilometers west of the earthquake's epicenter. In addition, there is a naval base 'Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky' there, as well as infrastructure for missile cargo and shipbuilding. Serious destruction is visible in the port of 'Severokurilsk'. Currently, Russian authorities are assessing the extent of the damage to the base.
