Life in Occupation: People in Donetsk Wash Themselves with Snow (Video).

Problems with Water Supply in Occupied Donetsk
Residents of occupied Donetsk face serious problems with water supply, leading some of them to wash themselves with snow. According to the head of the DPR government, Yevgeny Solntsev, this problem will not be resolved until 2026. When water does come, it is of poor quality - instead of clean water from the tap, a brown liquid flows due to dilapidated pipelines that have not been repaired for decades. Local authorities acknowledge the issue, but are unable to resolve it due to the neglected state of infrastructure.

In some areas of the city, water is supplied only once every two days, and due to low pressure, it does not reach the upper floors of apartment buildings. Residents complain about the lack of water, heating, and the bad taste of water that resembles swamp water.
The occupation administration is trying to solve the problem by replacing emergency sections of pipelines, drilling new wells, and laying additional pipelines. However, these measures do not produce quick results, and the situation remains critical.
It is also worth noting that the level of drinking water in the Starokrymske Reservoir in Mariupol is rapidly decreasing, which has critical consequences since 2024.
