Today, a lengthy meeting was held in Kent, England, involving representatives from Ukraine, the USA, and Europe, dedicated to security issues and possible pathways to ending the war. The parties discussed important aspects such as ceasefire, prisoner exchanges, and ensuring peace. President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that Ukrainian arguments were heard, and signals were conveyed to partners.
Andrii Yermak noted on his Telegram channel: 'Today's lengthy negotiations in Britain made significant progress in ending the war in Ukraine.'
The meeting was attended by US Vice President Jay D. Vance, Head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine Andrii Yermak, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, as well as advisors on national security from European countries.
'Peace is only possible if Ukraine participates in the negotiations, with respect for our national interests and without recognizing any occupied territories,' emphasized Yermak.
According to Andrii Yermak, during the discussions, complete agreement was reached that any truce must be based on respect for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, rather than legitimizing occupation. The parties discussed key issues of ensuring security, coordination of actions, and strategies for achieving lasting peace.
'Our signals have been conveyed, arguments heard, and threats considered,' emphasized President Volodymyr Zelensky.
As a result of the meeting in Kent, it became clear that all parties share a common understanding of the importance of adhering to international law and recognizing Ukraine's sovereignty to achieve peace in the region.
