Reduction of Mobilization Age in Ukraine: Should We Expect Changes.
Parliament Does Not Plan to Reduce Mobilization Age
Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk stated that the parliament is not considering further reducing the mobilization age. He said this during a television marathon.
He noted that the mobilization age has already been lowered to 25 years. According to Stefanchuk, although discussions on this issue are still ongoing, there have been no specific proposals to further lower the age threshold.
The speaker emphasized that the existing mobilization resource in Ukraine is sufficient, provided there is effective management by the Ministry of Defense. "As far as I am informed, avoiding any numbers, it is the correct approach to forming the mobilization base that tells us today that Ukraine has the necessary mobilization resource," emphasized Stefanchuk.
Recall, in May, a new law on military service, mobilization, and military registration came into effect in Ukraine. The mobilization age has been lowered to 25 years, but some individuals subject to military duty may be called up for service from the age of 18.
