UAF hold Selidove even under the threat of encirclement – Forbes.
Ukrainian soldiers hold south of Pokrovsk
According to Forbes, hundreds of Ukrainian soldiers from four brigades are defending the salient south of Pokrovsk and the town of Selidove, despite the threat of encirclement.
The threat has been known for a long Time, and military experts advised Ukrainians to retreat from this section, but they are not ready for this yet. On Wednesday, they engaged in a firefight at the car and railroad junction, where they claimed victory.
The Russians are trying to break through to Selidove, which is an important point for both sides. The Ukrainians are holding on to the south, threatening the left flank of the Russian army, which is advancing towards Pokrovsk.
Over the past week, the Russian command has changed its strategy and is actively advancing towards Selidove and adjacent areas. The Ukrainian Defense Forces are attempting to block this advance to maintain the threat to the Russians' left flank.
At the moment, Ukrainian positions remain unchanged, and the roads connecting Pokrovsk with Selidove remain free. Pokrovsk is holding, as is the entire southern front.
