According to the publication Defense Express, the targeted object may be the command post of the Russian military group in the Kursk region. The editorial office of the publication suggests that the significance of the target is confirmed by the considerable number of Storm Shadow missiles used.
The Storm Shadow missiles used in these attacks have special BROACH type warheads weighing 450 kg. They are designed to hit fortified targets and operate on a two-stage principle: first, a hole is made in the obstacle by a cumulative charge, and then a fragmentation-blast warhead is activated.
Confirmation of the missile strike comes from information from Bloomberg. According to a Western official, this is the first case of Ukraine using Western missiles in the border region with Russia. According to Bloomberg, remnants of Storm Shadow missiles were found in the Kursk region, and two missiles were intercepted over Yeisk - a port city on the Black Sea in the Krasnodar Krai. This information was published by the Telegram channel Rybar, which is linked to the Russian army and has over 1.3 million subscribers.
Representatives of the press service of President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine have not commented on the information regarding this missile strike.
