The meeting between Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump in Alaska brings the promise of peace and global security. According to Putin's special representative for economic cooperation Kirill Dmitriev, 'The dialogue between Putin and Trump will bring hope, peace, and global security.'

Prior to this, the special representative published a map from 1860, where Alaska is marked as 'Russian America.'
On August 15, the meeting between Putin and Trump will take place in Alaska. The US President called on Ukrainian President Zelensky to be ready to 'sign something.' In response, Zelensky stated that Ukrainians will not give up their land to the occupier.
It is worth reminding that Russian officials previously made statements about historical ties with Alaska and claims for its return. Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev stressed in January 2024 that Russia expects the return of Alaska 'any day now.'
The meeting of Putin and Trump in Alaska evokes hopes for peace and security, but also maintains tense relations between Russia, the US, and Ukraine.
