Ukrainian Public Trust in Volodymyr Zelenskyy

According to UATV: A new survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) from January 23 to 29, 2026, reveals that 61% of Ukrainians trust President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Within this group, 25% stated they 'completely' trust the president, while 36% said they 'rather' trust him.

These figures indicate a trust-distrust balance of +28%, as 33% of respondents reported they do not trust Zelenskyy. The results show almost no change compared to the data gathered in January 2026.

Enduring Public Support

A previous KIIS poll from September 2025 found that a majority of those who 'completely' trust Zelenskyy also wish to see him remain as president after the war concludes. This suggests a durable level of support for the president among the Ukrainian populace.

Despite the immense challenges the nation faces, President Zelenskyy continues to maintain a high level of public backing. This enduring trust likely reflects a widespread view among citizens that his leadership is crucial for navigating the country's wartime and post-war challenges.

The stability of this public confidence could significantly influence Ukraine's political landscape in the coming months, particularly regarding potential elections and post-conflict reconstruction efforts. Public opinion polls are closely watched as indicators of national unity during the ongoing conflict.
