Government approves payments of 6500 UAH: who will receive money in December.
According to inkorr.com: The government of Ukraine has made a decision to provide a one-time payment of 6500 UAH for the most vulnerable segments of the population under the 'Winter Support' program. Payments will be automatically transferred through the Pension Fund, with funding set to begin in early December. More than 660,000 people will be able to receive support. This was reported by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko.
Who will receive 6500 UAH of winter support
Yulia Svyrydenko noted that assistance will be provided to those in greatest need. The list of recipients includes:
- orphaned children and children under guardianship;
- children with disabilities in foster families;
- children of internally displaced persons;
- people with disabilities among IDPs;
- single pensioners.
These funds can be used for a specific list of goods including medicines, footwear, and clothing. This will allow for targeted support to citizens in meeting basic needs.
Svyrydenko emphasized:
‘The program is designed for people who require the most support’.
What else does the program provide
The 'Winter Support' program was developed at the request of President Volodymyr Zelensky. The Ministry of Social Policy has reported that payments will be made in two formats:
- 1000 UAH — for many Ukrainians who apply for assistance;
- 6500 UAH — automatically for vulnerable categories of citizens.
Applications for the 1000 UAH payment have already been accepted since November, while special payments of 6500 UAH will be transferred automatically or via the 'Diia' app.
This initiative was already in effect during the winter period of 2024 and was aimed at supporting citizens during times of rising expenses and difficulties due to martial law. This year, the program aims to help families prepare for the cold, especially those with children, the elderly, and those living in difficult wartime conditions.
Receiving this support will help thousands of Ukrainians cope with winter expenses, as prices for essential goods and services continue to rise. It is important for the government to provide necessary support to the most vulnerable categories of the population in conditions of economic difficulties, especially during a crisis.
