According to inkorr.com: The situation with evasion of mobilization in Ukraine has reached a critical point. People's Deputy Roman Kostenko notes that about 80% of conscripts are fleeing from training centers, which could lead to their number equaling that of military personnel.

“Soon the number of those evading will be equal to our army. And these people will still have complaints against those who are fighting now,”

– emphasized the MP.

Kostenko also noted that the state is not doing enough to bring evaders back or keep them in service. He expressed outrage over the fact that millions of Ukrainians are evading conscription while observing the situation.

Over 20 Thousand Cases of Desertion

In September 2025, over 20 thousand cases of desertion (DZ) were recorded in Ukraine, noted former People's Deputy Igor Lutsenko.

Lutsenko also pointed out that those who have been in the army for a long time and also newcomers to the Armed Forces of Ukraine most often refuse service.

Criminal Liability for Desertion

The Verkhovna Rada has passed bill No. 13260, which introduces criminal liability for desertion by servicemen. This law aims to address the issue of mobilization evasion and improve the situation in the army.

The growing issues of evasion of mobilization and desertion in the Ukrainian Armed Forces require urgent measures. It is important to ensure not only the combat readiness of the army but also the security of the country as a whole. Engaging youth in military service and supporting servicemen are key to stability in the state.
