Drivers face the risk of losing their license for 10 years: what punishments will be tightened.

Why fines are being increased
The reason for developing the draft law is the constant violations by drivers that hinder emergency vehicles’ passage, which may endanger people's lives. The draft law reminds of the importance of timely arrival of emergency rescue services to places of emergencies.
According to the government resolution of November 21, 2012, No. 1119, the arrival time of emergency medical teams in cities should be 10 minutes, and outside the city - 20 minutes after contacting the dispatcher.
How fines will be increased
For violations by drivers who block special vehicles, the fine can range from 1700 to 2500 hryvnias and includes loss of driving rights for 6-12 months. There is also a provision for revocation of rights for 5-10 years for those whose actions pose a threat to human life.
The adoption of the draft law will ensure unobstructed movement of special vehicles and strengthen discipline on the roads.
The draft law presented in the Verkhovna Rada on increasing the responsibility of drivers who hinder the movement of emergency vehicles provides for the introduction of fines and revocation of driving rights for offenders. This initiative aims to ensure the rapid and unobstructed arrival of emergency rescue services to places of emergencies, which can save lives.Read also
