HR experts named professions that will not disappear due to automation.
According to ТСН: Despite the rapid development of technology and automation, there are professions in Ukraine that, according to HR experts, will remain in demand for many years to come, even if their tools change.
HR expert Tatyana Pashkina named a number of specialties that she considers 'evergreen', although she acknowledges that artificial intelligence (AI) may significantly impact these professions.
Medicine, Education, and Engineering
According to the expert, it will be difficult for automation to replace such specialties:
Doctors.
Teachers.
Engineers.
Tatyana Pashkina emphasized that the complete replacement of these specialists is currently unlikely:
«It seems to me that we will hardly be able to replace doctors, teachers, and probably engineers with anyone or anything. Yes, it is possible that there will be some interference from artificial intelligence or automation in these professions, but I think that by the time this happens, these specialists will still be in operation for a long time to come,» explained the expert.
She also predicts that the changes will not be about replacing people, but the formats of their work:
Teachers may transition to more individualized and remote learning, abandoning traditional classrooms.
The pharmaceutical industry may be impacted by sales jobs: “Medicines in pharmacies may eventually be sold by robots using artificial intelligence.”
The Relevance of Manufacturing and Technical Fields
HR expert believes that in the manufacturing sector, artificial intelligence cannot yet fully take the place of humans.
Besides engineers, Pashkina identifies a number of specialties from various fields that will remain in demand for at least the next two decades:
Architects
Technologists
Designers
Pharmacists
Chemists
«I think that anything related to manufacturing, artificial intelligence cannot take away from us yet. Although with the advancement of technology, anything is possible. Besides engineers, specialties from various fields will still be relevant for another 10-20 years for sure, and we'll see after that,» concluded Tatyana Pashkina.
Thus, despite the rapid implementation of new technologies, traditional professions such as doctors, teachers, and engineers remain crucial for society. Possible changes only in the formats of their work indicate that human experience and knowledge will remain invaluable, even in the era of automation. Therefore, investment in the development of this field remains as relevant as ever, and specialists in these professions will continue to play a key role in society.
