Water quality in Odessa and the region is under threat: experts warned of danger.


Due to bad weather that spontaneously hit neighboring countries, the quality of water in Odessa and the region may be threatened due to the pollution of the Dniester and Danube rivers. This was reported by the Odessa Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
«Due to the severe weather conditions that have spread to Moldova, Romania, Poland, and the Czech Republic, there is a threat of pollution to surface water bodies, particularly the Dniester and Danube rivers, as well as Lake Yalpug, which are sources of drinking water for part of the population of the Odessa region», - experts report.
In order to prevent the spread of infectious diseases and emergencies, control over the quality of drinking water and the health of the region's population has been strengthened.
«If the epidemic situation worsens, we will additionally inform about it. The situation is constantly under control», - the message states.
Let us remind you that the water quality in the water intake points of the Desna River in the Kyiv region remains within normal limits.
Research has found that lakes around the world will face a significant increase in temperature by the year 2100 due to anthropogenic climate change. This increase will be unprecedented and will threaten the existence of many species, both surface and deep lake layers.
