'Avenue of Unbreakable Cities' Exhibition Opens in Sumy

According to UATV: A public exhibition titled 'Avenue of Unbreakable Cities' has opened in Sumy, organized by the volunteer organization 'Dobrobat'. The display, located on Theatre Square, serves as a powerful tribute to the fortitude of Ukrainian cities that have endured relentless enemy shelling. This installation arrives as many communities continue to face the daily realities of conflict.

The Installation and Its Symbolism

The exhibition features 15 symbolic pillars, each dedicated to a specific city that has survived bombardment. Sumy itself, counted among these resilient cities, is represented in the display. Every pillar contains three key elements:

  • the name of the corresponding city;
  • a fragment from a rocket or artillery shell;
  • notches symbolizing the number of recorded strikes that city has sustained.

This powerful installation aims to underscore not only resilience but also the memory of the tragedies these Ukrainian communities have endured during the war.

The opening of the exhibition marked a significant moment for the local community, serving as a stark reminder of the challenges faced by Ukrainian cities and their unwavering spirit in the struggle for peace and security.

This exhibition acts not only as a memorial to the victims of war but also highlights the crucial importance of collective memory and solidarity in a time of crisis.
