An American visited the island of aggressive natives with gifts: how the story ended.
Mikhail Polyakov made his third attempt to reach the island of the Sentinelese tribe. Previously, he had no success, but this time he made it to the island. It turned out that the American intended to deliver food to the locals. The tourist from the USA prepared for contact with the tribe and whistled for an hour, but the natives did not appear. He left them gifts, collected sand samples, and filmed a video, and then returned to the mainland. However, the Indian police detained Mikhail Polyakov, and he is now in custody.
The Sentinelese tribe, which numbers about 150 people and has existed for 30 thousand years, has an aggressive disposition and avoids contact with other peoples. The last case of the Sentinelese breaking into the world occurred in 2018 when the natives killed a missionary who tried to preach on the island. This underscores the need to respect the culture and customs of this people, as well as to be cautious and not violate their rules.
In other news, it is mentioned that the USA has imposed tariffs on uninhabited islands, particularly on Heard and McDonald, where penguins live. The president approved large reciprocal tariffs, which has generated public interest.
