Andriy Illenko calls for preparation for a long war: why it is necessary.

“I urge everyone to stop believing in a quick end to the war – this is a very dangerous illusion. Not because I want to fight – on the contrary, I am already 'fed up' with the war. All military personnel, especially those who have been in the army since 2022, to put it mildly, want another life. But what are the options? Abandon everything and wait for the enemy in Kyiv? No, that is not an option for us.”

He also expressed doubts about the possibility of achieving a ceasefire, noting that this will not happen even if there are grounds for negotiations. Illenko emphasizes the importance of being prepared for a prolonged conflict and not relying on its quick resolution.

We remind you that according to the program of activities of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, up to 2026, measures to strengthen mobilization and recruitment are planned, including increasing the recruitment of Ukrainians for military service.
