Japanese radio equipment manufacturer ICOM investigates explosions of radios with its logo in Lebanon

Japanese radio equipment manufacturer ICOM has stated that it is investigating incidents of explosions of radios with its logo in Lebanon. The manufacturer promises to provide updated information on the investigation.

Media reported that ICOM radios exploded in Lebanon, and photos of these devices were published in other media. ICOM representatives claim that the model depicted in the photos was manufactured in 2014.

The Lebanese Ministry of Communications reported that the exploded radios were not officially supplied and did not have licenses. A representative of ICOM in the USA stated that these devices do not belong to their company.

Taiwanese company Gold Apollo also denied involvement in the explosions and named another company as the manufacturer of these devices.

In Lebanon, a series of explosions occurred with radios used by Hezbollah members for communication. The Hezbollah movement accused Israel of the attacks and promised to retaliate for the deceased.
