Ukraine Demands Russia Face Justice for Drone Strike on Miners.
Drone Strike Targets Civilian Miners
According to UATV: On February 1, Russian forces carried out a drone attack in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The strike hit a service bus carrying miners, killing 15 people and wounding 7 others. This attack is part of a pattern of strikes on civilian infrastructure that has characterized the ongoing war.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister's Response
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has called for those responsible to be held accountable, stating this is a necessary condition for achieving a just peace. He emphasized that the bus contained no military targets, describing the event as a true horror. Sybiha further stressed that such crimes confirm Russia's status as a terrorist state and demand accountability for these actions.
“This incident underscores the grave situation Ukraine faces and the critical need for an international response to war crimes.” — Andrii Sybiha
The Foreign Minister's statement is likely to spur new international initiatives aimed at holding perpetrators accountable and strengthening sanctions against Russia. In the context of the conflict, such acts of violence provoke outrage and demand a robust response from the global community.
