Emergency power cuts on October 17: where and when restrictions are expected.
According to inkorr.com: On October 17, emergency power cuts will be implemented in Ukraine, which are planned to take place in the evening. This was reported by 'Ukrenergo', where the company's director Vitaliy Zaychenko spoke during a telethon.
“The schedules for emergency outages will partially affect household consumers. These restrictions will take effect today during the evening peak load period and possibly for the next hour in the eastern part of Ukraine,” he noted.
Vitaliy Zaychenko emphasized that Russian troops have switched to a scorched earth tactic, attacking energy facilities and destroying entire energy regions. Thermal power plants, in particular, have become targets for attacks.
Recently, the occupiers launched strikes on energy facilities in the Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Sumy, and Donetsk regions. Restoration work is ongoing.
Due to the difficult situation in the energy system, which arose due to numerous shellings and damage to infrastructure, power restrictions for industrial consumers are being introduced across all regions of Ukraine from 07:00 to 22:00.
Occupiers' attacks on energy facilities
On the night of October 16, new attacks by occupiers on energy facilities using drones were recorded, which led to power outages in several regions.
According to Vitaliy Zaychenko, emergency power cuts may last even a week due to the emergence of new emergencies at energy facilities. The occupiers' attacks continue to negatively affect the infrastructure, causing serious disruptions in power supply. The eastern regions have been the hardest hit due to numerous damage and shelling, which will directly impact the outage schedules and power restrictions.
Emergency power cuts have become the only way out of the current situation due to continuous attacks on energy facilities. The heads of 'Ukrenergo' urge the population to be ready for possible power outages and emphasize the importance of conserving electricity.
