Naftogaz is to recover 120 million euros from Russia: Austrian court ruling.

The Ukrainian company 'Naftogaz' has gained the opportunity to forcibly recover 120 million euros in assets located in Russia. This occurred as part of the case regarding compensation for the illegal seizure of 'Naftogaz' property by Russian troops in the temporarily occupied Crimea. As a result of the court's decision, 'Naftogaz' can recover funds from Russia by selling more than 20 real estate properties of Russian assets located in Austria. The total value of these assets exceeds 120 million euros. Similar actions are also being conducted in other jurisdictions. In 2016, 'Naftogaz' initiated arbitration against Russia to demand compensation for the illegal seizure of property in Crimea. After a three-year battle in the Hague tribunal, Russia was ordered to pay more than 5 billion dollars to the Ukrainian company. Russia refuses to comply with the court's decision, so 'Naftogaz' has launched an international campaign to recover debts.
