Biden is restrained by an internal sense of Russia as a strong enemy - observer.
U.S. President Joe Biden considers Russia an enemy and adheres to the view that it is the successor to the USSR. Therefore, he refrains from providing active assistance to Ukraine and believes that Kyiv should negotiate with Moscow. This opinion was expressed by ZN.UA international policy observer Vladimir Kravchenko.
According to a think tank study, Ukraine needs $900 billion in aid and an increase in its army size to win. But for the Biden administration, it is more important to negotiate with Russia.
The operation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Russia's Kursk region showed the absence of "red lines" for the Kremlin. But it is more important for Biden to keep Russia within the boundaries defined by Putin than for the younger administration.
Kravchenko suggests that if Kamala Harris wins, the U.S. will take a tougher stance towards Russia and provide more support to Ukraine. He also believes that for Biden, as a representative of the old guard, the stability of Russia after Ukraine's victory is important.
