Parents loved each other and the children: friends of the deceased Bazilevich family shared memories.

Yesterday, September 6, Lviv said goodbye to Eugenia Bazilevich and her daughters Yaryna (21 years old), Daryna (18 years old), and Emilia (7 years old), who died as a result of a missile-drone strike on September 4. Relatives and friends spoke about the family.  

Everyone who was close to the family or ever interacted with them confirms: the family was intelligent, the parents adored both each other and the children, and they poured their souls into their upbringing. Each of the girls was successful.

Daryna Doskach, head of the Lviv branch of "Plast," to which the Bazilevich family belonged, spoke about their connection to the organization and each of the family members.

«This family is very intelligent, and it's not by chance that they lived in the very center of the city because Konovaltsia is a very expensive, very known area in Lviv. Many prominent representatives of the intelligentsia lived there. Many of their descendants live there now as well,» notes Daryna Doskach. She worked with Yaryna Bazilevich for some Time. She remembers her as follows: «She was a very intelligent person, had a lot of experience in the public sphere. Her colleagues admired her, the way she meticulously brought everything to perfection. Yaryna knew English very well, she was very erudite».

Doskach noted that the parents invested a lot in their three daughters, focusing on their upbringing and development. «In social networks, the father, Yaroslav Bazilevich, posted many photos - how they spent time with the family, often visited theaters. From Yaryna's friends, I know she was very interested in art», says Daryna Doskach.

«Now many Plast members are fighting. Already 63 Plast members have given their lives for the freedom of Ukraine. The Bazileviches are the first Plast members, at least from those I know, to die as civilians in this war», she adds.

Middle daughter Bazilevich Daryna at one time joined the youth group named after Hanka Korenets. She was a Plast member until 2021, after which she distanced herself from "Plast", but maintained good relations with her friends. «Angel-like, light, smart, petite girl, never said a bad word about anyone», that's how her classmates remember her.

The best friend of the eldest Bazilevich daughter Yaryna, named Daryna (surname not mentioned), is also shocked and heartbroken. «I don't know what to do next. The thing is, I have a younger sister. She is the same age as the middle daughter of the Bazilevich family. That's how we became friends: I with Yaryna Bazilevich, my sister with Daryna Bazilevich». Gradually, this friendship expanded to include families. «My sister and I often visited Yaryna's home. We played board games there - all together».

Her friend noted that she met Yaryna Bazilevich at school. «She was a very bright person, very positive. She was always busy with something: at school, it was either ballet, gymnastics, or music. When she grew up, she worked in three jobs simultaneously (including in the office of "Lviv - European Youth Capital 2025" - «Glavkom»). Yaryna had many dreams and plans and was looking for ways to realize them. Recently, she planned to move away from her parents and start an independent life».

Tragedy in Lviv:

• Yaryna Bazilevich - 21 years old;
• Evgeniya Bazilevich - 43 years old;
• Irina Demidova - 52 years old;
• Oleksandr Pohoretsky - 54 years old;
• Yuriy Arabsky - 55 years old.

The mayor published a family photo of the Bazileviches, under which he wrote: «After today's attack, the only person alive in this photo is the husband. The wife Evgeniya and their three daughters - Yaryna, Daryna, and Emilia - died in their own home».

It is known that Yaryna Bazilevich worked as a program manager in the office of "Lviv - European Youth Capital 2025".

It is also known that Evgeniya Bazilevich and her three daughters were scouts. 

Three schools and a creativity center were hit in Lviv.

Additionally, the regional Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center on Konovaltsia Street in Lviv was damaged in an enemy attack. Its historic building was damaged. More than 70 windows were broken. Frames were dislodged by the impact. Ceilings were destroyed in six rooms.

Also, the church of St. George the Victorious of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church on Chernivtsi Street in Lviv was destroyed.
