Basic Social Assistance - Should Ukrainians Change the Type of Payments.
As of July 1, 2025, a new support program has been launched in Ukraine - basic social assistance (BSA). This program is designed to support Ukrainians who are already receiving various types of social assistance: aid for low-income families, single mothers or fathers, child assistance in large families, temporary support for children whose parents do not pay alimony, or who cannot be found.
What Changes for Ukrainians and Who Will Be Entitled to Payments
The main goal of the new program is to simplify the social benefits system and reduce bureaucracy. Basic social assistance will combine several types of aid into one, thereby avoiding the need to submit numerous documents.
The amount of the new assistance will be determined individually, depending on the 'basic value', that is, the minimum sufficient income per person in the family. For example, in 2025, this value is set at 4,500 hryvnias. The full amount of assistance will be received by the first family member, all children under 18, and persons with disabilities of groups I and II.
Ukraine has implemented a new support program, basic social assistance, which will simplify the process of receiving social assistance for various categories of the population and reduce bureaucracy.
