UAV Strikes Novovoronezh NPP: What Happened After the Drone Detonation

According to inkorr.com:

The drone hit one of the buildings of the Novovoronezh Nuclear Power Plant due to 'suppression by technical means' in the Voronezh region of the Russian Federation. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing 'Rosenergoatom'.

Incident at the Nuclear Power Plant

The drone was spotted over the nuclear power plant on the night of October 7. It was neutralized by electronic warfare means. 'As a result of the collision with the cooling tower of operational unit No. 6, a detonation of the drone occurred at the Novovoronezh NPP,' the report states.

Consequences of the Incident

Fortunately, there were no destructions or injuries. However, a dark mark from the explosion remained on the cooling tower. The radiation background at the Novovoronezh NPP's industrial site and the adjacent territory remained at a normal level.

After a thorough inspection of the cooling tower that was affected by the drone attack, the specialists of the NPP found no damage that could affect the structure or operation of the cooling tower.

It is worth noting that on the night of October 7, Russian Belgorod was attacked by missiles. It is likely that missiles from Himars flew into the city.

Attack on Belgorod

No casualties or destruction have been reported as a result of the missile attack on the city of Belgorod. These events, which occurred on the same night, may indicate an increase in security measures and the protection of facilities in the Russian Federation.

Recent incidents highlight the growing tension in the region and the importance of ensuring the security of critical infrastructure. In the context of modern conflicts, such interactions with drones and missiles can pose a threat to important national infrastructure facilities.
