Fighters Are Considered Missing in Huliaipole: What Happened in Zaporizhzhia.
Situation in Huliaipole
According to ТСН: One of the defense forces' units uncoordinatedly left their positions near Huliaipole in Zaporizhzhia, exposing one of the flanks. The enemy took advantage of this, and as a result of clashes with the Russians, several Ukrainian fighters are considered missing in action.
This was reported by the spokesperson for the southern defense forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn, in a comment to the Interfax-Ukraine agency.
He noted that to improve the defense of Huliaipole and preserve personnel, regrouping and restructuring of the Ukrainian military's defense system was underway.
“One of the units uncoordinatedly withdrew from the occupied positions. This exposed one of the flanks of our operational formation in the area, and the personnel of a neighboring unit found themselves without cover. The enemy, taking advantage of this situation and the difficult weather conditions, entered the flank of the defense forces,” Voloshyn reported.
The spokesperson also emphasized that there is currently no precise information about the fate of several Ukrainian servicemen who are considered missing.
Voloshyn stressed that if Russian military forces commit a war crime violating the Geneva Convention, Ukraine will appeal to the relevant human rights and judicial authorities to punish the guilty.
He added that the command of the southern defense forces promptly took measures to improve the defensive situation in the Huliaipole area, including sending reserves here.
It should be noted that Russian troops continue intense assault operations near Huliaipole, trying to bypass the city from the eastern and northern flanks.
The current situation in Huliaipole indicates the challenging circumstances facing the Ukrainian military. Despite the problems, the command is taking the necessary measures to improve defense and is ready to respond to all challenges. The struggle for control over the region continues, and how quickly control over the flanks can be restored will determine the further development of the situation.
