There is a severe shortage of minibus drivers in Kyiv and the region: who has been mobilized and why vacancies are not filled

In Kyiv and the Kyiv region, there is a problem with the shortage of minibus drivers, which is worsening every month. Many drivers have been mobilized, but no one is substituting them in these positions.

Driver shortage due to mobilization

According to the head of the Kyiv and Kyiv region Transporters Association, Ihor Moiseenko, 90% of the drivers working in this area are not local residents. Due to mobilization measures, they avoid trips to the capital and its suburbs to evade checkpoints and police controls at the entrances and exits of populated areas.

The issue of reserving drivers remains unresolved, and there are no new personnel to replace them.

'The situation is worsening every month. Instead of the drivers who have been mobilized, no one is coming,' Moiseenko noted.

It is also worth mentioning that the summons from the TCC can be challenged in court if the conscript has not undergone a medical examination (VLC) within a year. Otherwise, sending summons is illegal. Those in the reserve may even be sought by the TCC, but such individuals can be detained and taken to the military enlistment office and then released due to their deferment from military service.

The reported news discusses the problem of the shortage of minibus drivers in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, which is exacerbated by mobilization and the absence of new staff to replace the missing workers. The main reason for the shortage is that many local residents avoid working in these positions due to difficulties associated with moving through checkpoints and police control.
