Kyiv's Nighttime Taxi Service Returns: Bolt and Uklon to Operate During Curfew.
Taxi Services Resume in Kyiv
According to Novyny.live: Kyiv authorities have granted Bolt and Uklon permission to resume 24/7 taxi operations during the nightly curfew, starting January 17, 2023. This initiative will provide residents with crucial nighttime transportation options during wartime. The move highlights the ongoing adaptation of essential services to the realities of conflict.
Uklon's service will be available continuously from midnight on January 17. Taxis can be used for travel to the following essential destinations:
- invincibility points (resilience centers);
- train stations;
- heating points;
- medical facilities;
- for food delivery.
Access to critical locations like hospitals and warming shelters is now a matter of necessity, not convenience, making this service vital for the city's residents.
However, both companies urge citizens to be responsible and use the nighttime service only for urgent needs. As Bolt representatives emphasized,
"the curfew is first and foremost about safety,"stressing the importance of adhering to air raid alerts and taking care of oneself and loved ones during this difficult period.
The Need for Responsible Use
The resumption of nighttime taxi service during curfew can significantly aid Kyiv residents who require urgent access to medical care or other essential points. It also demonstrates active efforts by city authorities and businesses to ensure safety and mobility for citizens under martial law. It is crucial that the public uses this service responsibly, fully aware of the risks associated with the wartime environment.
