Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians honor the memory of all those whose lives were taken by the Russo-Ukrainian war. Today we will remember Ivan Manus.

While defending Ukraine from the Russian occupiers, the soldier from Lviv fell. Ivan Manus's life was cut short on December 4, 2024. This was reported by the Lviv City Council.

Ivan Manus was born on January 17, 1979, in Lviv. He studied at the Ivan Puluj Lyceum of the Lviv City Council and at Lviv Secondary School No. 67. Later, he entered the Lviv Vocational College of Transport Infrastructure of the National University 'Lviv Polytechnic'.

Initially, he engaged in private entrepreneurship, founded his own company 'Budsam', and during the last period worked for a company that equipped hospital wards for children with oncology. In his free Time, he enjoyed fishing, mushroom picking, and loved active recreation.

According to his relatives, Ivan Manus was extremely kind and fair, a true friend with a great sense of humor, always willingly helped everyone, and was a person with a pure soul and a brave heart. Everyone who knew Ivan respected and loved him.

With the onset of the full-scale invasion, despite the lack of combat experience, he stood up to defend his homeland from the invaders. He fought against the occupiers in the Kharkiv region as part of the 419th Separate Rifle Battalion of the 42nd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

For personal courage and bravery, he had great respect among his comrades.

The farewell to the hero who gave his life defending Ukraine from the Russian occupiers took place on December 13, 2024, at the Garrison Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Lviv. The defender was buried at the Lychakiv Cemetery.

Ivan Manus is survived by his wife, a 16-year-old son, and a sister.

We remember those who fell at the hands of Russian invaders, light candles in memory, and bow our heads in mourning during the nationwide minute of silence, honoring the bright memory of Ukrainian citizens who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state: all military personnel, civilians, and children, all who perished in the fight against the Russian occupiers and as a result of the attack by hostile troops on Ukrainian cities and villages.
