Glavkomciting the Vinnytsia fish protection patrol, the incident occurred on October 12 on the Sib River, near the village of Pavlivka in the Illinets community.
The authorities clarified that the criminal had two banned gill nets. He managed to catch 9 kg of fish, including 17 silver crucians and 1 pike. The total damage to nature amounted to 30,464 UAH.
An administrative protocol was drawn up against the offender under Article 85 of the Code of Ukraine on offenses in the field of fishing. Also, on September 26, a body of a 52-year-old resident of the village without signs of life was found in Koziatyn, in the Khmilnyk district of Vinnytsia region. Law enforcement is investigating this incident.
The State Emergency Service calls on people to be careful near water bodies and reminds: in case of danger, you should call the rescue service at number 101.
