Brazilian Legionnaires in Ukraine: How Prayer Unite Warriors of Different Cultures.
Brazilian Soldiers in Prayer Before Battles
According to inkorr.com: Soldiers from Brazil always pray before each battle. Guilherme Ribeiro, a military man from Brazil, stated in an interview that before the start of battles, Latin American soldiers turn to prayer.
'Brazilians are Christians. We are indeed very religious, so we always pray the Lord's Prayer before battle',he explained.
Communication in the Ukrainian Legion
Colombians who joined the military operations on the side of Ukraine also participate in the training. In the Ukrainian legion, English is the main language of communication, which is determined by the diversity of nationalities among the fighters. Guilherme Ribeiro emphasized that the language barrier can complicate communication:
'There is a language barrier. A barrier on their side. For a Brazilian, understanding what Colombians are saying in their language, Spanish, is not a problem. But when we turn to them in our language, Portuguese, – they do not understand',he said.
Thus, the Ukrainian legion unites fighters from different countries, which can complicate communication due to linguistic and cultural differences. Despite these difficulties, the warriors are ready to overcome them for the common goal – the defense of Ukraine.
