The book Orbital has won the 2024 Booker Prize
The book Orbital, written by British author Samantha Harvey, has won the 2024 Booker Prize. This was reported by The Guardian.
«Our unity regarding Orbital recognizes the beauty and ambition of the work. It reflects Harvey's extraordinary attention to the precious and unstable world in which we all live», said jury chair, artist and writer Edmund de Waal.
The book Orbital tells the story of astronauts contemplating the fate of Earth and humanity. It was published in November 2023 and became the best-selling among the contenders for the prize. In 2024, 29 thousand copies of the book Orbital were sold in the UK.
It is worth reminding that Irish writer Paul Lynch was awarded the Booker Prize in 2023 for his dystopian novel 'A Song of the Prophet'.
