Reaction to the Polish President's Decision

According to Novyny.live: Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, has responded to Polish President Karol Nawrocki's decision to strip Volodymyr Zelensky of the Order of the White Eagle. The move, according to reports, stems from Zelensky's approval of naming a Ukrainian Armed Forces unit after the 'Heroes of the UPA.' In protest, Budanov declined the Golden Officer's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland on June 20, 2023.

Criticizing the Polish leader's actions, Budanov stated that

“this is an unfriendly act toward Ukrainians.”
He further remarked that
“revoking Zelensky's award is a gift to the Moscow aggressor.”
Budanov emphasized that
“this step by the Polish president has nothing to do with justice.”
