He was the soul of the company and had many plans. Let's remember Artem Henzerkyi.

Every day at 9 am, Ukrainians honor the memory of all whose lives were taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today, we remember Artem Henzerkyi.

Artem Henzerkyi, a senior soldier, served in the separate mechanized Inhulets Brigade. He died on April 23, 2024, while performing a combat mission in the Donetsk region. He had planned to celebrate his 30th birthday in July.

Artem was born in Cherkasy and studied at the Cherkasy State Business College and the Cherkasy Institute of Banking. He received a bachelor's degree in "Finance and Credit." However, after finishing his studies, he decided to serve on a contract basis as an accountant in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

«When the full-scale invasion began, he was called up through mobilization. He served in a military unit as a machine-gun platoon gunner. The brave warrior died in the Donetsk region during a combat mission as a result of enemy shelling from a «Grad», – reported Cherkasy Mayor Anatolii Bondarenko on Facebook.

Farewell to Artem was held at the Square of Glory in Cherkasy on April 30, 2024.

Serhii Bondarenko was a friend of Artem for more than 25 years. He says Artem was a bright person and the soul of the company.

«Artem and I started communicating from kindergarten, then went to school, college, and institute together. He fought for Ukraine's independence, it's a pity that it happened this way. We hope he is now in a better place, and that this war will end soon, and we will not have such losses anymore», – says Serhii.

Serhii Cherednychenko, the head of the Cherkasy zonal department of military law enforcement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, considers Artem a true patriot and claims he died on the front line.

«He is an exemplary patriot. Nothing was impossible for him. He always carefully fulfilled his tasks, but the Russians surprised him with powerful shelling, and he died on the front line, right in the trenches», – noted the military official.

Artem's lecturer, Valentyna Krasiuk, said he was a hardworking student and had many plans for the future.

«It's a pity that we are losing talented children. I express gratitude to everyone who is defending us. Artem studied in a very strong group of people. We all tried to study well. And Artem was also an excellent student, persistent, with many dreams, like every young person: to live, to work. I sympathize with his family, wife, child», – said the lecturer.

Artem was buried in the Alley of Heroes at the city cemetery in Cherkasy.

Honoring the memory of the fallen
