Ukrainian Horting Champion Vadym Dutko Dies at 23: The Story of a Hero.

Ukrainian Horting Champion Vadym Dutko got married and left with his wife abroad before the great war began, but returned as soon as the Russian occupiers started their invasion of our territory to take up arms. Vadym died on September 7, 2022, forever remembered as a 23-year-old. This was reported by 'Glaсkom' referencing the local newspaper 'Nash Krai'.
Life Path of Vadym Dutko
Vadym Dutko was born along with his twin brother on May 18, 1999, in the village of Dubyshche in Volyn. After finishing school, he began practicing combat horting, where he became the champion of Ukraine and repeatedly took prize places at nationwide competitions.
In 2018, Vadym, along with two brothers, went on a contract military service in the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade. As a serviceman, he also participated in the crossfit championship among teams from Zhytomyr and in the open rugby cup of Lviv, where he repeatedly took prize places.
Return to the Homeland
On the first day of the full-scale invasion, Vadym was far from Ukraine but decided to urgently return to protect his Homeland. He served as a commander of the reconnaissance platoon of the airborne assault battalion.
Senior soldier Vadym Dutko was killed in battle on September 7, 2022, near the settlement of Maksymivka in the Bohodukhiv district of the Kharkiv region.
He is survived by his wife Olena, with whom he spent only half a year, three brothers, two of whom also defend Ukraine, and a sister.
Awards and Memory Commemoration
Vadym was buried with full military honors in his native village of Dubyshche.
For the heroism and courage demonstrated during combat operations, Vadym Dutko was posthumously awarded the badge 'For Courage' III class and the medal 'For Military Service to Ukraine'.
