The summer and autumn are the perfect time to collect berries, nuts, and mushrooms. However, one should take no risks and avoid entering a 'forbidden' forest area, as fines are imposed for this in Ukraine. In 2025, the responsibility for unauthorized collection of wild fruits is established in the Code of Ukraine on administrative offenses.
Are Ukrainians allowed to collect nuts in 2025?
According to the provisions of the code, unauthorized collection of wild fruits, including nuts, in prohibited areas or only with a forest ticket is allowed, and is punishable by a fine for citizens ranging from 1 to 3 tax-free minimum incomes, and for officials – from 3 to 7 tax-free minimum incomes.
How much will the fines in 2025 be?
A tax-free minimum in 2025 is 17 Hryvnias. Therefore, the fine for citizens can range from 17 to 51 Hryvnias and for officials from 51 to 119 Hryvnias. There is also a liability for violations regarding the collection period of nuts, berries, and mushrooms, which is also subject to a fine.
Thus, Ukrainians should be cautious and remember the rules for collecting wild fruits to avoid unpleasant financial consequences.
