Red Sea again dangerous: Houthis attack Greek bulk carrier, two killed.

A new attack on a Liberian-flagged bulk carrier, operated by Greek management, occurred in the Red Sea, resulting in the deaths of two crew members, while another two were injured. According to sources close to the situation, the incident took place about 50 nautical miles west of the Yemeni capital controlled by Houthi rebels. The vessel 'Eternity C' was attacked by drones and boats near the port of Hodeidah, reported the Piraeus-based management company Cosmoship Management to Reuters.
This attack resulted in two crew members suffering serious injuries, while another two went missing. A representative of Cosmoship stated that the bridge and telecommunications on the vessel were damaged, complicating communication with the crew. The bulk carrier 'Eternity C' was on its way to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia when it fell victim to the attack.
Reactions and warnings about potential threats
The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations Center (UKMTO) also confirmed the incident, asserting that the vessel was hit by rocket grenades from small boats. Authorities have initiated an investigation, and all vessels in the area have been advised to exercise caution at sea.
The attack occurred after the Houthis announced earlier on Monday the sinking of a cargo vessel that they attacked with artillery fire, rockets, and remotely controlled boats carrying explosives in the Red Sea. This was their first known attack in open waters this year. The vessel operator, the Greek company Stem Shipping, confirmed that all crew members of the bulk carrier 'Magic Seas' were rescued by another merchant vessel and intend to arrive in Djibouti later on Monday. The 'Magic Seas', carrying cargo from China to Turkey, began taking on water after the attack and remained at risk of sinking.
During the attack on the bulk carrier 'Eternity C' in the Red Sea, two crew members were killed, while others were injured and went missing. The attack occurred near the port of Hodeidah in western Yemen, controlled by Houthi rebels. This is already the second such attack in the area in a short period, raising the threat to international shipping and highlighting the need for an international response to the escalating tensions in the region.Read also
